Continuing the weekend-long movie-related protests at the theater, about eight members of Bastard
Nation, a group that wants adult adoptees to have open access to their birth records, staged a "positive
picket" Sunday in support of the film "Secrets and Lies".
In the British film, an adopted character gains access to her birth certificate from government
officials.
"Adopted people in England can access their birth certificates very easily," said Damsel Plum, a member
of Bastard Nation. It is illegal in the United States, even though this information may be important for
medical reasons or personal history."
