On 11/3/98 OR voters approved Measure 58 - The Adoptee Rights Initiative, which reverses the retroactive sealed records law of 1957 and restores original birth certificate access to adult adoptees born in OR. The initiative will soon be argued in court. You can join other adoptees in voicing your support of equal rights and Measure 58 by joining Bastard Nation or joining our mailing list.

Section 20: Equality of privileges and immunities of citizens. No law shall be passed granting to any citizen or class of citizens privileges or immunities, which, upon the same terms, shall not equally belong to all citizens.
